Wedding Information


Congratulations! Thank you for selecting the You Need Pie! Diner as one of your possible wedding vendors. We pride ourselves on working with brides and grooms from all over the country to make their wedding special and unforgettable! Here is a little information regarding our wedding services:


Tasting:The first step is usually to schedule a tasting. Tastings are complimentary and give you a chance to try the cake, pie or dessert of your choosing. We need about a week’s notice to make sure that we can prepare your choices. Typically for cake tastings, we make vanilla, chocolate, carrot, lemon and red velvet cakes and a variety of fruit and cream fillings. Frosting choices typically consist of buttercream white, cream cheese, or chocolate fudge. We are a custom bakery and can prepare anything you request. At the tasting, bring a photo of the style of cake you like and the basic details of the wedding (date, time, location, ballpark number of guests, etc.)

We offer wedding cakes, wedding pies, wedding cupcakes, wedding dessert assortments, specialty grooms cakes and dessert for rehearsal dinners. We also offer ‘munchie trays’ for the day of the wedding (everyone always forgets to eat!)


Tiered wedding cakes are priced by the serving. Our cakes start at $4/serving for butter cream and $6/serving for fondant, go up depending on design. The variety or flavors of cake does not change the price. If you are having a tiered cake, you can choose a different flavor combination for each tier. A firm price can be quoted once we see a photo of the kind of cake you are thinking about. You can send a combination of photos to us and tell us what you like about each one so that we can create a custom cake for you.   Individual cakes are priced at a flat fee depending on design. We are always willing to work within a budget and can make recommendations once we understand your needs. A popular option is to order a smaller tiered cake, and a sheet cake for extra servings on the side. (sheet cakes are typically $1.5/serving). Specialty toppers, flowers, ribbons, or other décor need to be discussed with the baker. These items are typically provided by the bride unless special arrangements with the baker have been made to order in specialty items. There are no other extra charges, no change fees and final decisions don’t need to be made until about 2 weeks before the wedding. Delivery and setup within the Estes area is free.

Dessert assortments are typically priced by the dozen pieces, figuring 2 – 2.5 pieces per person depending on how heavy the meal is. Firm prices can be discussed at the time of your tasting. Setup is an additional charge if you are needing the desserts to be arranged on stands or platters at the event. Delivery within the Estes area is free.

Cupcakes are offered in 3 sizes – mini, standard, and jumbo. For standard and jumbo sizes, filling is offered as an option. In general, mini cupcakes are $8/dozen, Standard cupcakes are $1.85 each and $2.25 each with filling. Jumbo cupcakes are $2.50 each and $3 each with filling. Setup is an additional charge if you are needing the cupcakes to be arranged on stands or platters at the event. Delivery within the Estes area is free.

Pies are a popular choice for weddings! Pies are priced at $17.50 each (lattice and pecan add $2).   Pies typically serve 8 slices, however some people choose to cut them into a 12 slice, and assume people will sample more than one type. For the 8 slice, figure one slice per guest. For the 12 slice, figure 1.5 slices per guest. Typically pies are displayed on a table at the reception with either cake plates, or risers for height and visual interest.

We will work directly with your venue and coordinator to ensure a smooth setup. Delivery is typically 1 hour prior to the event. You may leave any cake topper, flowers, or decorations for the table at the venue and we will decorate as we have agreed.


Samples of our wedding cake work can be seen on the photo page of this website. We are a custom bakery, and can do anything you like. It is a good idea to send an email of your preferred designs (any photo from the web will do) or pin your choices on Pinterest so we can look at them together!


Next Steps:

Once you’ve decided on us as your baker, you will pay a $50 non-refundable deposit for us to hold the date and time for your wedding, We do get booked up, as we do not take multiple weddings on the same day/timeframe in order to give each wedding party the attention they deserve. This deposit can be made in person, via mail, or via credit card over the phone. You will receive a confirmation shortly before your event confirming all the details. You can make changes up until this confirmation is finalized by you and by us. Your cake is baked the night before you wedding or the day of the wedding and delivered ready to enjoy!
